The Arc of Horry County, Inc.

We are a non-profit, non-political, and non-sectarian organization whose purposes are:

• To promote the general welfare of persons with mental retardation and related developmental disabilities of all ages wherever they may be.

To foster the development of programs in behalf of persons with mental retardation and related disabilities.

To encourage research related to mental retardation.

To develop a better public understanding of mental retardation, it's problems and it's myths.

To cooperate with all public, private, and religious agencies and professional groups in the furtherance of these aims.

To associate with and support financially the Arc of South Carolina and the Arc of the United States to promote the common cause.

To serve locally as a clearing house for gathering and dispensing information regarding persons with mental retardation and programs designed for their welfare.

To solicit and receive funds for the accomplishment of the above purposes.

Our Board of Directors consists of the elected officers, the immediate past president and the directors. For 2008, the following people have served on our Board.
